Metro Denver EDC launches newly redesigned Web site
The Metro Denver EDC launched a fully redesigned
www.metrodenver.org earlier this month. The new site offers site selectors and companies considering the region a host of new features and a vastly enhanced user experience.
The new site compliments
www.metrodenverGIS.org, a free-standing GIS site selection site for searching available real estate in the Metro Denver and Northern Colorado region.
"Both sites
provide immediate access to critical business and real estate information to guide expansion and relocation decisions in the region," said Holli Baumunk, vice president of economic development for the Metro Denver EDC.
New features include a site selection center,
industry profiles, expanded communities section with interactive mapping, a searchable and downloadable
company database, and a unique DataCart for gathering and downloading research.
"We've expanded our news center with business news and information for the region," said Janet Fritz, director of marketing and technology. "And our 'Mile High Advantages' section has great information on regionalism, workforce, health and wellness, infrastructure, and sustainability -- all aspects that distinguish Metro Denver as a prime location for job creation."

Gov. Ritter and area organizations complete Canada trade mission
Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter and several statewide economic development organizations, including the Metro Denver EDC, embarked on a
Canada trade mission Nov. 12-15, 2007.
The mission focused on the energy and bioscience industries, with the Governor and attendees meeting with companies and government officials in Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary.
"Canada is a major source of foreign investment in Colorado," said Gov. Ritter. "This mission allowed us to develop new partnerships and retain existing Canadian investments in Colorado. We hope to raise our visibility and position Colorado as a preferred partner for Canadian companies."

Denver only non-coastal city on list of top real estate spots
Denver is the only non-coastal city among top-tier spots for commercial real estate, according to the Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2008 report by the Urban Land Institute and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Metro Denver’s commercial real estate market
ranked eighth among the 15 markets tracked in the report, and analysts gave special recognition to the city’s redeveloped urban core and the transit system that links downtown with suburban communities.
"The most successful investment opportunities are markets on the coast, reinforcing the real estate truism that it’s all about location, location, location," the report says. "But as many interior cities such as Denver have demonstrated, it is possible to transform a city into a 24-hour global pathway city with master planning around infrastructure, transportation, and economic development."
