Online Portal Provides New Avenue for Citizens to Connect to City Services
RequestIndy allows citizens to request services, report issues, and open service requests online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Citizens can access an aerial street level view of an area to report locations of potholes, graffiti, high weeds and grass and other issues. Users will also have the option to look up the status of submitted requests. First NSP Homeowner in Mapleton Fall Creek Gets Keys to Renovated Home
On June 22, Mayor Greg Ballard joined local leaders and residents of the Mapleton Fall Creek neighborhood to celebrate the rehabilitation of one of the first homes using funding from the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Plan (NSP). The funds were granted to the City of Indianapolis through the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purpose of revitalizing urban neighborhoods most in need. Learn More...

Cultural Trail Continues to Grow With Unveiling of North Corridor
The Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick recently hosted a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the opening of the North Corridor of the trail, a one-mile stretch including portions of Indiana Avenue, St. Clair Street, Walnut Street, the Downtown Canal, Meridian Street, the American Legion Mall and North Street.  Mayor Greg Ballard, Auditor Billie Breaux and members of the City-County's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Executive Committee announced the start of the City's INDY CORPS (Consolodated Operations and Resource Planning System) initiative on June 17. INDY CORPS will manage financial accounting, procurement, human resources, and payroll systems using Oracle's 'PeopleSoft' application as a common data repository. 18th Annual Indian Market and Festival
June 26-27
Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
The market and festival includes performances from some of today's premiere Native American performers including storytellers, dancers and singers. Try unique foods including the crowd favorite, Indian tacos. There are activities for the little ones in the Dogbane activity tent ranging from mask-making to corncob dart toss. Learn more at

Free Family Concert
June 26
Indianapolis Early Music (Festival Musical Society of Indiana)
At this concert children of all ages are exposed to the "pop music" of the times of William Shakespeare and Christopher Columbus and will hear the fore-runners of the instruments that they know such as the sackbut, the shawm, recorders, cornetto, and stringed instruments. After the concert children are invited to "get up close and personal" with the instruments that they have just heard played. Learn more at
