Cheryl Kilday Named President & CEO of Spokane Regional CVB
(Spokane, WA, July 8, 2010) - The Spokane Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors is proud to name Cheryl Kilday as its new President & CEO. She will begin her new position on August 23, 2010.
Kilday comes to Spokane from Visit Loudoun
, the destination marketing organization for Virginia wine country, just outside of Washington, D.C., where she served as President & CEO since 1996. She has 25 years experience in the tourism industry including working in hotels, convention and meeting planning and event management.
"Cheryl is incredibly experienced and well respected in the industry, and we were delighted to have selected her after a lengthy search," says Lynnelle Caudill, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Spokane Regional CVB Board of Directors and Managing Director of The Davenport Hotel & Tower, and Hotel Lusso.
In 2009, Kilday's team in Loudoun County earned accreditation through the Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), a feat also accomplished by the Spokane Regional CVB that year. Additionally, her team earned a 2008 Emmy® Award for a series of heritage videos; a tourism award from the Virginia Convention and Visitors Association for interactive and online marketing; a Destiny Award through the US Travel Association for a promotional campaign; and a Gold Adrian Award through the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
"I am thrilled to be returning to the Northwest," says Cheryl Kilday, President & CEO of the Spokane Regional CVB. Kilday graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. "Eastern Washington is a region that I have always admired and I am honored to be joining the team in Spokane."
Kilday has been an association executive for more than 20 years and is just completing her term as President of the Virginia Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus. She serves on the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee, is treasurer for the Northern Virginia Visitors Consortium and is a member of the Greater Washington Tourism Alliance representing CEO and tourism executives from suburban Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. |
