Color
Trends |
In
the movie The Devil Wears Prada, there's a scene where
Anne Hathaway's character Andrea Sachs, the frumpy assistant to Runway fashion
magazine editor Miranda Priestly, scoffs at the fashion team when
they struggle to choose between two seemingly identical blue belts
for the magazine's cover shoot. An irritated Priestly schools Sachs
with a lecture about the fashion industry's influence on seasonal
color trends. Priestly explains how the shades used by top clothing
designers trickle down through the rest of the industry and quickly
infiltrate home design and retail stores.
But
that's just a scene from a chick flick. That's not how color trends
really begin, right? Wrong.

Three
Scoops with Dale Engelken |
 |
Research
Director Dale Engelken is the newest addition to Trilix and
is a marketing professional with more than 20 years of research
experience. Three Scoops recently sat down with Dale to discuss
his love of the Hawkeyes, magic tricks and becoming a famous recording
artist. |
3S:
You're a numbers guy, a Hawkeye fan and a newbie to the Trilix fantasy
football league. You took former Hawkeye kicker Nate Kaeding in the
second round of the fantasy draft. Explain yourself.
DE: Sure — it's
easy to pick on a guy when he is down, especially after his team has
taken a beating in the fantasy league. What can I say? Love the Hawkeyes
and love Nate Kaeding. The bigger question is why did I load my fantasy
team with so many Minnesota Vikings players?
3S:
On the off chance that you become a moderately famous recording artist,
what will be the title of your third album?
DE: It's
Better to Burn Out Than Fade Away. Always loved the lyric and frankly,
it is how I live life. I'm addicted to fun and adrenaline. I bring
that attitude to my client service as well.
3S:
Cooler magic trick: Pulling a coin from a child's ear, pulling a
rabbit out of a hat or sawing a woman in half?
DE: Pulling
a coin from a child's ear is a classic for me. I love kids and love
to see their expression as money seems to come from thin air.

Get
Your Game Face On!
Trilix
held its 6th annual tailgate and open house on Thursday, September
9, to celebrate the Iowa State vs. Iowa football game. This year's
theme was "Get Your Game Face on with Trilix." The camaraderie between
150 Iowa State and Iowa fans, made up of clients, vendors and friends,
made for an excellent celebration. Trilix raffled off a variety of
prizes and everyone had a great time dining on Jethro's
BBQ while playing yard games. There was also a representative
from Clear Channel Communications on hand to present Associate
Interactive Director Paul Burger with the 2010
OUTY Award for his Trilix
Research billboard. Check out some photos from the event here!

Stine
Seed Company at Farm Progress Show
Client Stine
Seed Company participated in the 2010 Farm Progress Show August
31-September 2 in Boone, IA. Although the roads were muddy and filled
with puddles from heavy rain showers, there was excellent attendance
and Stine Seed's tent was filled with customers anxious to talk to
agronomists. Attendees that stopped by the tent traded in their old
hats to "trade up to Stine Seed" hats. They also registered to win
a custom-wrapped Polaris RANGER® that Stine will give to a lucky
winner in April 2011.
New
this year, Trilix's public relations department provided live social
media coverage for Stine Seed throughout the duration of the 2010 Farm
